Lacey High School Students Delight in Annual Christmas Performance

Bands, choral groups perform as new instructor is welcomed

Lacey High School students in the band and several chorus groups entertained a packed high school auditorium Tuesday night to present the school's annual Winter Concert.

The band, under the direction of Matthew Holmberg, presented renditions of "We Shall Lift Lamps of Courage," "A Celtic Christmas" and "Midnight Sleighride," among others, while the school chorus, after-school choir and select ensemble performed songs including "Little Drummer Boy," Carol of the Bells" and "Oh Holy Night."

The choral groups were under the direction of first-year chorus instructor Stephanie Faille, who said the show represented a great welcome to the school district.

"I really feel like we're a family," she said, after welcoming alumni of the school up to sing two final songs, as Lacey tradition holds.

Winter break for students will begin with a half day this Friday in the district and last through Wednesday, Jan. 1. School reopens Jan. 2.
