Lacey Cops: Man Shoplifted Same Product Twice in Week

Suspect stole sound bars from big box store, police charge

Lacey police suspect a Waretown man returned to the township's Walmart store a week after swiping a Vizio soundbar unit and shoplifted two more.

Kevin Emery, an Oak Leaf Court resident, was arrested Dec. 11 after a store loss prevention employee reported that a male subject – eventually identified as Emery – left the store with a shopping cart containing items that he had not paid for, police said.

The cart included two Vizio sound bars worth $294, according to police.

The store employee told police that Emery fled in a vehicle after he was confronted in the parking lot. After being contacted by police, Emory turned himself in at Lacey Police Headquarters where he was processed and charged with shoplifting. He was released pending a court date.
