Dewey's Dogs Fights to Remain in Business

Anthony Geiger, operator of Dewey's Dogs, is consulting a lawyer

A line formed outside of Dewey’s Dogs on the corner of Route 9 and Lakeside Drive on Tuesday afternoon. As one gentleman approached the mobile food truck, he didn’t even have to put in his order. The operator, Anthony Geiger, knew what he wanted. “He has been here a long time,” said Vick Crowell, a resident and patron of Dewey’s. “He’s almost historic here.” On Monday, Dewey’s Dogs was denied permission by the township Planning Board to relocate his truck to the Forked River House Plaza. The food truck has been stationed in a vacant lot for 12 years but in January, the Planning Board approved the construction of an office building on the corner of Route 9 and Lakeside Drive, where Dewey’s currently sits. This is such a shame because he has the best hotdogs around! Lacey Township needs to stop stepping all over a vet who is trying to make a living! Shame on Lacey Township! There are plenty of spots in the township where they can allow Dewey's Dogs to relocate and it for sure would be greatly appreciated by the people that patronize Dewey's Dogs!
