Intoxicated Man Fled Scene of Accident, Later Transported to Hospital
A Villas, N.J. man struck a tree and parked vehicle with a Chevrolet Camaro that was reported stolen
A Villas, N.J. resident was transported to the hospital after a hit and run motor vehicle accident, police said. Matthew Bland, 27, was allegedly driving a black Chevrolet Camaro down Spaulding Avenue at a high rate of speed on Friday at 1:15 a.m. when he crossed Andover Road and struck a tree and parked vehicle in a yard. Police responded to the intersection of Spaulding Avenue and Andover Road but Bland allegedly fled the scene in a second vehicle. The Camaro was later reported stolen from the parking lot of the Forked River House. Police were dispatched to a Sunrise Boulevard home at 3:07 a.m. for an intoxicated male, Bland, with a severe leg injury. He was then identified as the driver of the Camaro, police said.
