3 Indicted on Charges of Drug Distribution in Lacey

Three others also indicted

Two locals were indicted on charges of distribution of heroin and other drug-related charges. Linda Carroll, 53, of Toms River and Leonard Dasaro, 57, of Forked River were arrested in Lacey on June 28. The two were also indicted on charges of possession of heroin and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance in a public recreation zone. Carroll and Dasaro intended to distribute heroin within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary Zone as well as within 500 feet of the Ocean County Library, according to the indictment. New Brunswick Teen Indicted for Lacey Armed Robbery

A New Brunswick male was recently indicted on a charge of armed robbery for an incident that took place in Lacey Township on Dec. 20, 2011. Joselin Santos, 17, was indicted on Jan. 31 on charges of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of hollow nose bullets. The indictment states that while committing a theft, Santos purposely put his victim in fear of immediate bodily injury with use of a “deadly weapon.” Santos was illegally carrying a .38-caliber handgun and hallow nose bullets, according to the indictment. He did not first obtain a permit to carry the gun, the indictment stated. Santos posted $100,000 bail on June 1, 2012.

Woman Charged With Leaving Dog to Die Will Appear in Superior Court

A court date has yet to be set

The Forked River woman charged with animal cruelty after she allegedly left a dog to die in a home will appear in Ocean County Superior Court. Megan Otte, 21, was arrested in June after police investigating a suspicious odor at a Pensacola Road address discovered the dog, Ruger, dead inside a dog crate in the home. Otte was arrested on Tuesday, June 26 and charged with animal cruelty and abandonment. An investigation by Officer Paul Sullivan and Officer Paul Schlossbach of New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals found that Otte moved from the Pensacola Road home and left Ruger, a mixed breed, alive in the cage. May 5 Indictments Two Penn Avenue, Forked River, residents are accused of breaking into a home on Lake Avenue and robbing and beating the woman who lived there. Andrew G. Lupton, 27, and Linda Martinez, 30, are charged in an indictment voted by an Ocean County grand jury with breaking into the home of Debra Ness, robbing her, and committing an aggravated assault on her on June 1. Lacey Residents Indicted on Burglary Charge

Indictments for the week of April 10

Dominic A. Russano, 26, of Route 9, Waretown and Brenna A. Haase, 32, of Elwood Street, Forked River, were indicted on a charge of breaking into a Barbara Court home in Ocean Township on Dec. 10 and allegedly stealing jewelry from the owners. Russano was also accused of having heroin, a gravity knife and a criminal record barring him from having weapons on Dec. 10. Kyle P. Pianetti, 19, of Briar Road, Lanoka Harbor, was indicted on a charge of receiving a stolen chain saw worth between $200 and $500 on Jan. 31 in Lacey, and a second stolen chain saw Feb. 9 in Toms River.

Two Forked River Men Indicted, Another in Jail

Devin L. Dubrow, 27, of Tern Court, Forked River was indicted on charges of receiving copper piping and wire stolen from Sweet Jenny’s Restaurant in Barnegat on Jan. 3. Tara E. Rand, 23, of Colonial Drive, Tuckerton; Jason Garthaus, 28, of Birch Road, Bass River and John Sauer, 28, of Ash Road, New Gretna, were also indicted in connection with the same incident. The individuals were charged after an accidental fire destroyed Sweet Jenny’s Restaurant on Dec. 27. The fire began in the ceiling of the log cabin structure above an office, officials said. It was most likely caused by an electrical wire malfunction. Scarpatti was arrested on Feb. 26 on simple assault and judicial contempt charges. Scarpatti’s bail is currently set at $2,500, with…

Theodore J. VanSanten of East Haines Street, Lanoka Harbor, faces an indictment from the Ocean County grand jury. VanSanten was accused of an aggravated assault on Sept. 26 on Lacey Police Sgt. Michael DiBella. Van Santen is also charged with resisting arrest and having cocaine and hydrocodone.
