Police Nab Alleged Lawn Light Thief Again

Police conduct a motor vehicle stop when they find seven illuminated solar lights inside Thomas Egbert's car

Thomas Egbert, 56, of Forked River was issued another special complaint summons for stealing decorative lawn ornaments. Officer George Resetar conducted a motor vehicle stop for a moving violation at approximately 2:11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 20 when they noticed seven illuminated solar lights inside the car.  The car also contained a decorative lawn ornament and a piece of wicker furniture in the rear open hatch. Resetar collected the items and searched the pines section of Forked River, locating matching solar lights at a residence on Falkenburg Avenue. On Saturday, Aug. 20, Resetar met with the homeowner on Falkenburg who confirmed that three of the collected solar lights were stolen from their front walkway. Egbert was issued a citation …

Perhaps the courts will sentence this pest to community service at one of the many county golf courses. If they remodeled the driving range with various lawn ornaments that this pest craves, he could play with them all day while retrieving golf balls.
