Celebrate With Santa at the Forked River House

The Bamber Lakes Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Lacey Township EMS present “Celebrate with Santa” on Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Residents can celebrate the holiday season with Santa on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Forked River House from 5 to 9 p.m. The Bamber Lakes Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Lacey Township EMS present “Celebrate with Santa.” The event will include a buffet dinner, Christmas cookies for sale, a cash bar, music, a silent auction, give aways and children get a free printed picture with Santa. Township Committee May Split The Difference On New Ambulance

Township committee and Lacey E.M.S. talk deals to purchase new ambulance

The Lacey Township Committee is considering shelling out $100,000 towards an ambulance for Lacey Township E.M.S. “The squad appears to be in very, very dire need for an ambulance because one is pretty much un-roadworthy at this time and based on the amount of calls that they have, it could become a major problem to be able to provide the safety to the residents to the hospital,” Mayor Gary Quinn said. The E.M.S. is looking to purchase a $125,000 ambulance plus $10,000 in customization and agreed to make up the difference if the township pays $100,000. Do "U Got Brains?"

Lacey Township High School students to bring teen safety driving awareness to the community.

Lacey Township High School (LTHS) was one of 19 schools in New Jersey chosen to be a part of “U Got Brains,” a teen driving safety project and contest run by the Brain Injury Association (BIA) of NJ. Twelve teens from the LTHS Emergency Services Club led by teacher Renee Gurgacz will participate in the statewide initiative that runs until April 30. The schools will compete to win a driving simulator. Susan Quick from BIA of NJ personally came to meet with the students and present them with a $1,000 stipend from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety. She also spoke with them about the importance of brain injury awareness. Susan’s own son was hit by a car 20 years ago when he was 12 and suffered traumatic brain injuries. His …
