3 Airlifted to Hospital After Head-On Collision

Extrication required in two-car accident on Lacey Road

Two Forked River women and one Smithville resident were airlifted to a hospital after a head-on motor vehicle collision on Lacey Road Tuesday afternoon. At approximately 4:51 p.m. police responded to a two-car accident on Lacey Road, west of Dover Road near the Bamber Lake Fire Department. A Honda Accord and Chevrolet Cavalier were found in the westbound lane of Lacey Road and sustained significant front-end damage. The Accord was facing east in the westbound lane and had struck the Cavalier, which was traveling in the westbound lane, head-on. Extrication was required, Capt. David Paprota said. 3 Lacey Residents Transported to Hospital Following Head-On Collision

Local emergency services were hindered by torrential rain and lighting as they extricated two

Hindered by torrential rain and lighting, local emergency services responded to a two-car collision on Sunday in which two Lacey residents were transported to the hospital, police said. On Deerhead Lake Drive, just north of its intersection with Windsor Place, a 1988 Plymouth Reliant and a 1996 Mazda 626 were involved in a head-on collision at 6 p.m. The Plymouth was operated by 60-year-old Theresa Dolch of Forked River and contained Richard Roventine, 86, of Forked River as a front seat passenger. The Mazda contained driver and lone occupant Nicholas Landolfi, 20, of Lanoka Harbor. Both Dolch and Roventine were extricated from their vehicle and taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River.
