Police responded to a 911 call on Sunday, July 8 after a Lanoka Harbor woman reported that her husband had been submerged within their pool
The Lanoka Harbor man who hospitalized after being rescued from a residential pool has been discharged, Jersey Shore University Medical Center spokesperson Maureen Gillespie said. James Carlo, 77, was in critical condition for nearly a week after he was found submerged in his Nautilus Boulevard pool on Sunday, July 8. As of Monday, July 16, his status had been upgraded to serious. Carlo was discharged on Friday, July 20. Police responded to a 911 call at 12:32 p.m. on July 8 after Carlo’s wife reported that Carlo had been submerged within their pool. A Lanoka Harbor man who was found submerged in his in-ground pool remains in critical condition at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, according to hospital spokesperson Maureen Gillespie. Police responded to a 911 call at 12:32 p.m. Sunday after a Nautilus Boulevard resident reported that her 77-year-old disabled husband James Carlo had been submerged within their pool. Carlo was floating on a raft in the shallow end of the in-ground pool when he fell off while momentarily unattended. He was found submerged in the deep end of the pool. Patrolman Keith Pearce rescued Carlo from the pool. Pearce along with Officers Darrell Nick and Special Officer Richard Smialowicz performed CPR and reestablished a pulse. Lacey police revived a Lanoka Harbor man after he was found submerged in a local pool. Police responded to a 911 call at 12:32 p.m. after a Nautilus Boulevard resident reported that her 77 year-old disabled husband James Carlo had been submerged within their pool. Carlo was floating on a raft in the shallow end of the inground pool when he fell off while momentarily unattended. He was found submerged in the deep end of the pool. Boater found man floating face down near personal watercraft.
The body of a man has been recovered from Barnegat Bay near Ship Bottom, New Jersey State Police said this evening. At approximately 8:20 p.m., a passing boater discovered the man floating upside down near an unoccupied personal water craft in a channel running parallel to the shoreline near the Route 72 causeway, said Sgt. Julian Castellanos of the State Police. Authorities were at the Ship Bottom municipal boat ramp Friday night after reportedly recovering the body. An officer at the scene confirmed an incident, but did not elaborate. Ship Bottom police blocked off the entrance to the boat ramp area, which is located just south of the eastbound lanes of Route 72.
