Letter: No Need for a New Cardiac Surgery Program in Ocean County
Lacey resident points out that one of the top 50 cardiac hospitals is located in Pemberton Township
I beg to differ with an editorial printed by the Asbury Park Press on Tuesday May 29th - “Cardiac Surgery Needed in Ocean.” Did everyone forget that the Deborah Heart and Lung Center is just west of the Ocean County border in Pemberton Township? One of the top 50 cardiac hospitals in the nation is right in our backyard! Only about 30 minutes from Toms River. It is an easy drive on Route 70 out to Browns Mills. Having recently had two close family members inpatient at Deborah (one was transferrred from Community), I can attest to their expertise, care and compassion- for the whole family as well as the patient.
