Lacey Recreation Department Taking Registration for Spring Fitness Programs

Pilate and zumba classes are being offered

The Lacey Township Recreation Department is currently taking registration for its spring fitness programs. These programs are scheduled throughout the spring season and include opportunities for all ages.     Power Yoga-Pilates is a fusion based class combining athletic based yoga poses and the Joseph Pilates body slimming and core exercises. This class will take place at the Lacey Township Recreation Classroom on Tuesdays, April 2 through June 11 at 7 p.m. The fee for this program is $80.00 for the ten week session or $10 per class.  Gentle Yoga is a 60 minute class consisting of all facets of fitness: breath work, flexibility training, strength, endurance, balance, and relaxation. Recreation Department Waives Fees for Remaining Fall Programs

The Lacey Recreation Department has waived fees for several programs to help those recovering from Hurricane Sandy

The Lacey Recreation Department has waived fees for several programs to help those recovering from Hurricane Sandy. “We waived the fees for a couple of our programs to allow people some much needed stress relief during the rebuilding stage after the storm,” Recreation Director Jim Wioland said. There are four fitness programs that are finishing up this season, that residents can jump into for free. Just bring the attached flyer. Teaching Zumba Brings Joy to New Lacey Business Owner

Rhythm Zone offers several classes daily to a variety of ages

Claudia Flores will never forget the first Zumba class she held in Lacey Township. It brought her joy. “I walked into this place and I saw all these people,” the Toms River Zumba instructor said. “It felt so good because I never had that big of a crowd. I was so happy. Until this day those faces are still with me.” Flores went from renting out space at fitness centers such as Ultimate Fitness and Alice’s Dancin' Corner to opening her own gym on Tuesday, April 3. Rhythm Zone offers a variety of Zumba classes, a Latin dance-inspired fitness program. “It was always a dream of mine to have my own dance studio, “ she said.
