Main roads largely clear in the township as rain started falling
Lacey residents woke up to a little over an inch of snow and slushy roads Saturday morning, but with the precipitation now coming down as rain, there may be barely enough for snowballs by midday. Public works crews began salting the roads at approximately 4 a.m. this morning and were done by 9 a.m., Mayor Mark Dykoff said. "We didn't have to do any plowing," he said. "Basically mother nature is doing our work for us." Salting was used as a preventative measure but most of the snow has started to dissolve due to the rain, he said. The switch to rain came later in towns further north.
