School District Looking for 'Hands on Heroes'

Nominations for students who volunteered after Hurricane Sandy will be accepted until Friday, March 15

The Lacey Township School District is now accepting nominations for Hands on Heroes. "We know the importance of the role of  a volunteer.  When volunteers decide to serve, they are not looking for recognition or reward, they are only seeking to help others," a statement on the school district's website said. During Superstorm Sandy many Lacey students volunteered to help those impacted. "Student volunteers often get little attention, but they have such an important impact," the statement said. Student nominees will be spotlighted on the school district's website and recognized for their service during an evening ceremony in April 2013, National Volunteer Month.
