Facebook data shows most Jersey users are rooting for the 49ers, switching their allegiance (temporarily) from the Giants or Eagles
It's not a surprise that most Facebook users in New Jersey started the football season solidly supporting the New York Giants or Philadelphia Eagles. "While winning seems to matter, NFL teams have local followings that are probably heavily influenced by family ties and/or where a person grew up," according to Facebook, which recently compiled data on users who are fans of an NFL team on the social network. But now that the locals' seasons are over and the Baltimore Ravens are heading to Super Bowl XLVII against the San Francisco 49ers, Jersey residents have shifted their allegiance. Perhaps surprisingly, the vast majority of New Jersey Facebook users favor the West Coast 49ers, with fans from Cape May, Salem, Gloucester and Camden counties…

Free photos and autographs will be offered
Residents can watch Monday night football with a former New York Giants player and Super Bowl star Rodney Hampton at the Forked River House tonight. Hampton will be at the Lacey based restaurant and bar at 8 p.m. Free autographs and photos will be offered. Hampton, a former running back from the University of Georgia, was on the Giants his entire career from 1990-97. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and had 6,897 career rushing yards, which was the most in Giants history until Tiki Barber surpassed that feat. Hampton was also a member of the Giants team that won Super Bowl XXV. Hampton now runs Ultimate Athletics, a conditioning and training facility, and Hamp’s Camp, Inc., an after-school organization that helps kids from third to …

Hundreds of thousands flock to New York to fete Super Bowl winners

Hundreds of thousands of fans flocked to the Canyon of Heroes in downtown Manhattan to ring in New York's latest championship. Paper flew from buildings, fans tossed toilet paper rolls back and forth over Broadway Avenue, and the Giants rolled by with smiles as they ended at City Hall to accept keys to the city from Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

Two Tuesday celebrations - one in New Jersey and one in New York City - commemorated the Giants win over the Patriots in the Super Bowl on Tuesday. Prognosticating camel improves record to 15-6 for this season after New York's Super Bowl victory
Some say elephants are wise. But how about the camel? Princess the camel from Popcorn Park Zoo was right on… again. For all who had their doubts during the Patriot’s last run with 57 seconds left on the clock, Princess was sure the New York Giants would take the Super Bowl. “She already got extra treats this morning,” said John Bergmann, manager of Popcorn Park. “She was a happy girl this morning. She’s all smiles.” Each year, Princess predicts the winner of NFL games, including the Super Bowl. Princess makes her decisions based on graham crackers, Bergman said. Princess the Camel of Popcorn Park Zoo in Lacey Township has once again lived up to her reputation as a football pick prognosticator: The camel predicted the New York Giants would come out on top in Super Bowl XLVI. Princess, who has been prognosticating for the past six years, has the uncanny ability to predict the outcomes of games, said John Bergmann, general manager of Popcorn Park. “What started out as a fun weekly activity a few years ago has become an annual tradition,” Bergmann previously said. “Princess has her own fan base — probably as strong as some of this year’s NFL quarterbacks. The New York Giants will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI on NBC tonight and millions of people from across the world will be watching.
