Checkpoints set up throughout Ocean County all weekend
Drivers getting stopped at DWI checkpoints this weekend will also be checked for being under the influence of drugs, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's office. With the start of the busy summer travel season looming, Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato today announced the continuation of the annual countywide DWI checkpoint program. The program, which supplements local DWI enforcement, consists of staging numerous checkpoints throughout the county. Narcotics seized at David Sikora's residence had an estimated value of $7,000
A Forked River man was arrested in relation to drug distribution after Lacey Detectives executed a search warrant, Detective Sgt. Chris Cornelius said in a news release. A search was conducted on Dec. 5 at a South Main Street, Forked River home where David Sikora, 38, was arrested after four outstanding traffic warrants were discovered. The warrants totaled $2,700 and were issued by the Neptune, Ocean Township, Beachwood and Lacey Municipal Courts. During Sikora’s arrest, police discovered heroin and crack cocaine in his pockets, Cornelius said. Four of five charges carry a three to five year incarceration sentence
A Forked River man was charged with several drug offenses after police witnessed a hand-to-hand transaction, police said. Charles Dekker, 43, was allegedly witnessed in what was suspected to be a drug-related transaction in a local commercial parking lot on Wednesday, Nov. 21, police said. As officers approached the two suspects, one attempted to flee on foot. During Dekker’s arrest, police found an empty prescription bottle that originally contained Oxycodone. Dekker swallowed an unknown amount of narcotics while physically resisting arrest, police said. Two were charged with intent to distribute heroin and distribution within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School
Four Forked River residents were arrested in relation to a two-week narcotic distribution investigation, Detective Sgt. Chris Cornelius said. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Friday, April 27 that led to the arrest of Ashley Frank, 19, Matthew Lonsdale, 30, Charles Dekker, 23 and Kurt Thatcher, 21. Following a search of the vehicle, police found narcotics including heroin, hypodermic syringes and other assorted drug paraphernalia. Frank and Lonsdale were charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and distribution within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School. Dekker was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe. He also had an outstanding $25,000 Ocean County warrant. Thatcher was …

I think my first attempt to reply to this was rejected, I apologize if I double post. Anyways, I see what you're saying, I know people like this. The problem though is that many with chronic pain or other ailments take their medication like they should but then drive even though they are in no good condition to do so.
