Professional Athletes Shoot Hoops With Lacey Residents

Impact and Dreams for Kids hosted March Madness at Lacey Township High School

Guest athletes from the NFL and NBA competed against Lacey residents at March Madness. The event was held by Interact, a Lacey Township High School student organization, and Dreams for Kids, a nonprofit organization run by former NFL player Lonnie Allgood. Professional football players from the Giants, Jets, Cowboys, Steelers, Raiders, Eagles and Patriots played basketball games against six teams made up of Lacey athletes, the high school varsity football team, a girls basketball team, teachers, coaches and police officers. Proceeds go toward clean water in Wales and Peru, polio eradication, and Dreams for Kids. The event was supported by the Rotary Club of Forked River. NFL Players Come to Lacey for March Madness

Education, goal-setting, character, community, clean-living— and a Friday fundraiser for polio and clean water

As Lonnie Allgood, former NFL player for the Cincinnati Bengals, announced that he was bringing professional athletes to Lacey, Cedar Creek third and fourth graders let out a series of respectful “ooohs.” A March Madness basketball game will take place at Lacey Township High School Friday, March 11 as a fundraiser for Interact, a LTHS student organization, and Dreams for Kids, a non-profit run by Allgood. Professional football players will play short basketball games against six teams of local Lacey residents. 1.     There will be a March Madness basketball game featuring NFL players at Lacey Township High School tonight. This is a fundraiser for clean water in Wales and Peru, polio eradication, and Dreams for Kids.
