Letter: Super Extends Her 'Deepest Apologies' for a Wet Graduation

An open letter to Lacey's 2012 graduates, parents and families from Superintendent Sandra Brower

I again want to congratulate you on your fine accomplishments and all that you have contributed to Lacey Township. You have made us so very proud and I am inspired by the personal stories of family and special guests who attended graduation to see you – achieving greatness against all odds.  Unfortunately, despite all the planning that went into preparing for graduation, yesterday’s weather did not cooperate. I want to extend my deepest apologies for the weather as it certainly did rain on us consistently and without reprieve. The decision to hold the graduation ceremony is made using all of the data available including weather reports from NOAA, the National Weather Service, and news organizations that forecast local weather. Letter: Lacey Residents Can Now Donate to Local EMS Squad Online

The Lacey Township First Aid Squad has begun its annual fund drive

Lacey Township First Aid Squad is in the middle of our annual fund drive. A few weeks ago letters were sent to all residents of Forked River and Bamber asking for your financial support. Lacey Township First Aid Squad has been providing volunteer emergency medical service to the residents and visitors of Lacey for over 50 years through your generous donations. Even in difficult financial times you have continued to give to our organization, keeping our service free of charge, and allowing us to maintain the high level of service you expect and deserve. We answer over 2,000 calls for service each year.  Recently we published a website, www.ltems23.com, where you can find information about our organization, how to become a member or contact …

Letter: No Need for a New Cardiac Surgery Program in Ocean County

Lacey resident points out that one of the top 50 cardiac hospitals is located in Pemberton Township

I beg to differ with an editorial printed by the Asbury Park Press on Tuesday May 29th - “Cardiac Surgery Needed in Ocean.” Did everyone forget that the Deborah Heart and Lung Center is just west of the Ocean County border in Pemberton Township? One of the top 50 cardiac hospitals in the nation is right in our backyard! Only about 30 minutes from Toms River. It is an easy drive on Route 70 out to Browns Mills. Having recently had two close family members inpatient at Deborah (one was transferrred from Community), I can attest to their expertise, care and compassion- for the whole family as well as the patient. Celebrating their 90th year of service, Deborah’s entire staff is top notch. Several years ago while taking my Aunt in California …

Letter: We're All Neighbors in Lacey Township

No need for misleading campaign materials

Yes, I was very disappointed to read the misleading campaign literature sent out on behalf of Mr. Most. It seems to me that Mr. Vaccaro has run a very civilized campaign. This is after all Lacey Township; not Trenton, N.J. We are all neighbors and should be no need for this. Jay Burnett Forked River Editor's note: Patch will accept and publish election-related letters to the editor through Sunday, Nov. 6. Include your full name and contact information (which will not be published) and please send to Elaine Piniat at elaine.piniat@patch.com and Nicholas Loffredo at nick@patch.com.
