Very little traffic reported on major highways
Another weekend on the Jersey Shore is winding down, and as of 5:30 on Sunday night it looks like most people are getting to their destinations without too many problems. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is reporting no issues on the Garden State Parkway through most of the region, reaching all the way to the Hudson River crossings. The only major issue on the New Jersey Turnpike even near the area is on the northbound side near Exit 7A. The problems extend from Route 195 in Robbinsville all the way to Exit 8 in East Windsor. Even with the volume the delays should only be around 10 minutes. All things considered for the middle of summer it looks to be a smooth ending to the weekend with just a few more days until people will be heading …
Traffic is light as temperatures dip slightly
With temperatures crossing into triple digits all through the area today this should be a busy weekend on the Jersey Shore. However, as of 7:40 Friday night, there is very little traffic to report on the local roadways. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority reports that there are very few problems on both the Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, except for at the Hudson River Crossings. In Berkeley Township, a downed pole and downed wires is making for difficult driving conditions on Route 9. On the northbound side between Korman Road and Ocean Gate Drive all lanes are closed which is making for heavy delays in the area. Check back with Patch.com on Sunday for an update on traffic leaving the Jersey Shore.
No big problems reported on local roads as weekend winds down
With "Carmageddon" having past in California, the time has once again come for visitors of the Jersey Shore region to return to their original points of origin. A recent addition to the traffic scene in the area is a two mile delay on the Garden State Parkway heading north near exit 98. The traffic volume has picked up in that area as of 4:20 on Sunday afternoon. Also on the local roadways, there are delays reported on Route 36 north between Atlantic Ave. in Long Branch and Navesink Ave. in the Highlands. Heavy volume in the area is causing delays of anywhere from five to 15 minutes. Heading out of the area, there are delays reported on the New Jersey Turnpike heading north near Exit 7A. The traffic backup is reported to be close to …

Traffic looks light as weekend rush to the area gets under way.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic this weekend and grumbling about how it takes longer than you would like to get from point "A" to point "B", just remember it can always be worse. According to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, as of 3:45 on Friday afternoon there were no reported delays in the area, but there are problems other places in the state. The New Jersey Turnpike has reported delays on exit 8A that stretches for two miles due to heavy volume. Also on the Turnpike, there is a five mile delay on the southbound side near Exit 7A. That is also being attributed to heavy volume in the area. While no delays are being reported as a result, there is a broken down tractor trailer on 195 West at the exit for 295 which is blocking part…

Can we not start using the term 'carmageddon' every time there's traffic now? Nobody wants to read the co-opted drivel of some lame Internet 'journalist'. Agree with Larry, when talking Jersey Shore traffic a mention of the Parkway might prove relevant.   more ›
First weekend after Memorial Day starting off quietly
At 3:30 on Friday afternoon the official start to the weekend is just over an hour away. With a little bit of time to go the traffic is still light heading into the Jersey Shore area, but there are plenty of cars on the road in North Jersey. According to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority the biggest traffic issues in the area are starting around Route 9 in Old Bridge and Sayreville with a high volume of traffic already in the area. There is also a report of an accident on the Parkway southbound near Exit 98 which is blocking the left lane. If the traffic building in the northern part of the state starts its expected migration south it should make for some headaches on the local roads but for right now it looks like smooth sailing on the…
