After a two month investigations, Lacey Police charged Kenneth Stauton in connection to the Jan. 16 death of a 27-year-old Lacey man
A Forked River man was charged in connection with the heroin overdose death of a 27-year-old Lacey man, Capt. David Paprota said in a news release. Kenneth Stauton, 33, was charged with the first-degree crime of strict liability for a drug-induced death. Police responded to a local residence on Jan. 16 after a 27-year-old man was discovered unconscious, Paprota said. While assisting the victim, police found an amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia consistent with recent use. The victim was transported to Community Medical Center where he later died of an apparent heroin overdose, he said. The following evening, Detective Sgt. Chris Cornelius, Det. Robert Surtees and Det. Three others also indicted
Two locals were indicted on charges of distribution of heroin and other drug-related charges. Linda Carroll, 53, of Toms River and Leonard Dasaro, 57, of Forked River were arrested in Lacey on June 28. The two were also indicted on charges of possession of heroin and possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance in a school zone and possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance in a public recreation zone. Carroll and Dasaro intended to distribute heroin within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary Zone as well as within 500 feet of the Ocean County Library, according to the indictment. Narcotics seized at David Sikora's residence had an estimated value of $7,000
A Forked River man was arrested in relation to drug distribution after Lacey Detectives executed a search warrant, Detective Sgt. Chris Cornelius said in a news release. A search was conducted on Dec. 5 at a South Main Street, Forked River home where David Sikora, 38, was arrested after four outstanding traffic warrants were discovered. The warrants totaled $2,700 and were issued by the Neptune, Ocean Township, Beachwood and Lacey Municipal Courts. During Sikora’s arrest, police discovered heroin and crack cocaine in his pockets, Cornelius said. Two were charged with intent to distribute heroin and distribution within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School
Four Forked River residents were arrested in relation to a two-week narcotic distribution investigation, Detective Sgt. Chris Cornelius said. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on Friday, April 27 that led to the arrest of Ashley Frank, 19, Matthew Lonsdale, 30, Charles Dekker, 23 and Kurt Thatcher, 21. Following a search of the vehicle, police found narcotics including heroin, hypodermic syringes and other assorted drug paraphernalia. Frank and Lonsdale were charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and distribution within 1,000 feet of the Forked River Elementary School. The police will always charge one with the highest possible crime regardless because it gives prosecution and courts options and room to iron out the final outcome in court. I personally believe that heroin use is a choice people make knowing the risks and Yah the dealer should be charged with distribution but its not the courts right to hold him accountable for the death.
