Two other technology-driven policies were approved
The board approved three technology-driven policies, including “Student Use of Privately-Owned Technology.” The policy, which goes hand-in-hand with the district’s new Bring Your Own Device initiative, permits students to use technology devices such as a iPad or smart phone while in school as long as they follow the provisions. To use a privately owned technology device, the student must have the approval of their parent or legal guardian and the school teaching staff member, the policy says. Lacey’s Board of Education will convene in the Lecture Hall of the high school for its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Join Lacey Patch for live coverage. Tonight’s agenda includes a 2011-12 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report by Frank Holman, Homan and Frenia, PC. Following the presentation, the board will be voting to accept the financial report. The agenda states that there are no audit findings. Students can now use their smart phones and iPads in class

From professional development to curriculum mapping, the school district continues work prior to the first day of school on Thursday, Sept. 6
From administrative retreats to professional development and new programs for the students, the Lacey Township School District is preparing full force for opening day on Thursday, Sept. 6. Lacey Patch sat down with Superintendent Dr. Sandra Brower recently for an update on where the district’s at and where it will be come time for first day. Professional development The district’s administrative team will spend four full days engaging in professional development and preparing to open its doors, Brower said. I have the same issue as Amy....I think they need to get the Wi-Fi system up and running sooner....my kids have ipods and they work fine but I don't want to buy iPhones because that creates a monthly bill and I have 2 kids so that means double on everything   more ›
