Brooklyn Man Injured When BMW Hits Guardrail On GSP Near Forked River Service Center

Early morning accident still under investigation, State Police say

A Brooklyn man was injured when his black BMW left the Garden State Parkway northbound, struck a guardrail twice, then came to rest in the center of the roadway, State Police said. Suhrob Nosirov, 25, was heading northbound at 6:54 a.m. near the Forked River Service Area, when his car left the roadway at mile marker 72.1, and struck the guardrail, Sgt. Adam Grossman said. The car then "rotated" from the impact and struck the guardrail again. It ended up in the center of the roadway, which was closed for half an hour after the accident, Grossman said. UPDATE: Woman Avoids Deer, Strikes Tree

One-car accident on the Garden State Parkway in Forked River sends one to hospital

A woman was transported to the hospital to be evaluated for injuries after an accident on the Garden State Parkway in Forked River, according to state police. Police responded to the one-car accident at mile marker 76.2 northbound at approximately 7:15 a.m. "The driver swerved to avoid deer carcass," Sgt. Robbins said. "The vehicle went off the road. It impacted a tree and broke a part pretty good." The woman, whose name could not yet be released, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center to be evaluated for minor injuries. "It was nothing serious," Robbins said. The scene was cleared early this morning and did not cause any traffic since it was off the road, Robbins said. Trooper Arnold is investigating the accident. @Booner. Obviously not every hunter goes by the book. I've seen a lot of people hunting in protected areas, too close to homes, schools, using the wrong weapons, etc. It's a lot more common than you're claiming. I'm born and raised here. UPDATE: Three Lakewood Women Seriously Injured In Route 9 Accident In Bayville

Women were struck by a pickup truck near the New Jersey Transit bus stop; Route 9 reopened

Three Lakewood women were seriously injured Fright night after they were struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross Route 9 at Frederick Drive, Sgt. Philip Smith said. Although Route 9 was closed for almost two hours after the accident, it is now open both northbound and southbound, police said. The women - all from Morris Boulevard in Lakewood - had just been dropped off by a southbound New Jersey Transit bus at the bus stop near Frederick Drive when the accident occurred. A three-year-old girl one of the women was holding was not injured seriously and suffered only minor abrasions, Smith said. Pedestrian Struck by Car in Pelican Island Dies of Injuries

No charges filed, accident under review by Ocean County Prosecutor's Office's Fatal Accident Support Team

A 21-year-old Lanoka Harbor woman has died of injuries she received after being struck by a car near the Route 37 eastbound lane during the early morning hours of May 7, Berkeley police Capt. Christian Roth said. Heather Aurora died at 5:16 a.m. May 8 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, he said. Aurora was hit by a car driven by Robert Benezio of Lavallette, at the intersection of Route 37 East, between Catalina and Prince Edward drives at 4:50 a.m. on Saturday. Benezio was traveling eastbound in the fast lane when the accident occurred, Roth said.
