Township Committee and Congressman Jon Runyan present proclamations to honor Jackie Montgomery for her service
Sirens sounded as a hometown girl who recently returned from a tour in Iraq was escorted by township emergency services to her residence after she was honored with two proclamations, including one presented by Congressman Jon Runyan. Army Medic Jackie Montgomery, 20, was born and raised in Lacey Township but never anticipated joinin the Army. “I planned to go to college when I got a call from a recruiter,” Montgomery said. The recruiter explained to Montgomery that the Army would financially support her education. Montgomery jumped on the opportunity and hasn’t looked back since.
