We ordered med/rare hamburgers that were supposed to be on toasted roll w/ fries - go a a well done hockey puck on a 'hard' roll, not toasted & rubber fries - - complained to the hostess & left -
they went downhill.

I love this place. Never had a bad experience. Had my wedding there and they added more food then we ordered and didn't charge extra. We go to the restaurant at least once a month all year long and I have never had a bad experience.Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Always great food and service!

We had such a great time at Easter that we went back for Mother's Day. The buffet is awesome and the service is friendly and extremely helpful. One of my kids wanted plain pasta with out any sauce and the kitchen made it special even though the place was extremely busy. You can't beat this place for food, service and especially their location.

The absolute worst food and service ever. My husband and I went and were seated and gave our order. Forty minutes later or server told us she had forgotten to put our order in. No bread, no water, nada. When our food came it was absolutely awful, mine was frozen in the middle. Our server put her finger in the middle of my food to verify for herself. I told her to throw it away. Someome in charge offered a free dessert but we had been there two hours and wanted to just get out. No worries, we weren't offered even a penny off the overpriced bill. Never again. Go to a place like Anthony's , it's smaller but they will make your food any way you want, always with a smile, always hot and they never forget you are there!

My family's experience for Easter was fantastic. The restaurant was busy, the food was plentiful and hot and the waitresses couldn't have been more accomodating. The buffet looked like something you would see in Vegas. I look forward to returning to the Captain's Inn this summer and dinning at the Tiki Bar.

I had reservation for the Easter Buffet. It was so crowded and we waited for 1/2 hr.When we asked the people how was the food on the way out every person said the food was cold and there wasn't enough food or the food that was on the menu.
My Husband came in and said he called Latitudes and they could seat us right away! The food at Latitudes was wonderful the service was great and everyone there had a smile on their faces and said Happy Easter! I was totally impressed! Also the prices were about $10 cheaper than the buffet at Captains inn.

I think FR Grown that, that was the case long ago, Capt Inn was a good place to eat. Today the staff and, the food is not equal to the prices they charge. I use to go there often... after the last few times of terrible service and terrible food we commented to the owner and hostess and got a shrugged shoulder. Not even an apology. Way to treat your year round patrons! I'll go anywhere but there now. JMO.

I use to be a fan of the Capt.'s Inn, a bit over priced but you also got some decent food there. Best Chilean Sea Bass around!
Their service on the other hand and repore with their patrons leave a lot to be desired. When you own a business such as their with a reputation to uphold I believe they should not carry a 'take it or leave it' attitude! To just blow off a 'regular' patron who has a legitimate complaint, does NOT make for good business. Especially when there is so much better competition in the area.
Remember they are not giving you the food for nothing you are paying good hard earned money for it.... demand the best of service and great tasting food !

Good food at a fair price. It would be better if they got the riff raff out of the tiki bar in the summer. Nice view of the river and very clean. Overall, better than average.

This restaurant puts on a holiday buffet which started out wonderful but has been gradually deteriorating . They are packing people in like sardines and squeezing the tables together so their is no room to breath. Getting to the buffet is like walking through a maze of occupied tables and chairs. It is not well organized and very chaotic and disruptive. The food is good and they have a nice variety of dishes. The desert table is truly outstanding.

Tikki bar is fun with average bar food. Great place to hang out. The inside resteraunt used to be good. The it would be bad and then good again. Seems to err on the side of bad more often than not. For what they charge it really is very average if not below. Much better available elsewhere for the price and service!

The Captain's Inn is the best restaurant in town. My wedding reception was there. They also have a dock side bar with bar fare food. Each night of the week they have specials. For $15 my husband and I split scallops wrapped in bacon and a personal pizza at the bar for dinner.

I agree with Marlyn...highly over rated... Large menu selection with all mediocre food ... The Tiki bar is fun if you can get a seat and enjoy the atmosphere..but same problem with food ..over priced and not so good

**

highly over rated restaurant- don't see what is so good about it
