Superintendent Search Process Nearly Complete

Another community informational session will be held within the next two weeks

The superintendent selection process is right on schedule, President Jack Martenak said.

Although a new superintendent will not be hired in time to be announced at the Monday, Oct. 17 school board meeting, the board will be holding another community informational session within the next two weeks, Martenak said.

Martenak was unable to provide further details since it is a “personnel matter at a critical juncture,” he said.

In August, a consultant from the New Jersey School Boards Association presented the results of a community input session. A report was developed based on residents concerns and what they would like to see in a new superintendent.

Current Superintendent Richard Starodub was originally set to retire on Aug. 30 but pushed back his departure date to Oct. 31 as a new superintendent had yet to be selected.

Starodub has been the Superintendent of the Lacey Township School District
