Assistant Superintendent Vanessa Clark: "I am planning on applying."

Hoping to hire the new superintendent shortly after the schools open in September, the Lacey Board of Education will officially kick of its search at the next meeting on Monday June 27, BOE President Jack Martenak said.

“I am a resident of this community,” Clark said. “And I’ve been with the district since January of 2005.”

Both Martenak and Clark said the district has been implementing many changes, including a new K-12 reading skills testing program for special education students that is being planned for the next school year, and transitioning the middle school to Apple computers. Clark says she wants to stay on the forefront of these and other developments.

“I have already invested a lot into the district and I certainly would like to continue doing so,” she said. “I think that the Lacey Township has an excellent school district, in terms of wanting the very best for our students. Mr. Starodub has done a tremendous job, and I’d like to see the district move forward in the same direction.”
