School District Considering Administrative Reorganization

The Board of Education will vote on the issue at the Monday, May 21 meeting

The school district is working on an “administrative reorganization” that will be revealed and voted on at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 21.

“We’re working on an administrative reorganization, which will be unveiled at the next board meeting,” board President Jack Marteank said.

Any moves are not yet official and will have to be voted on, he said. Martenak could not share any specifics until after the vote.

“We’re taking a look at how we’re using administrative positions with managing schools, teacher development and teacher evaluation,” he said. “We’re looking at how we are aligned and how we could be more efficient.”

Martenak said Lacey Township High School Principal William Zylinski is not being promoted, although parents have speculated that he will not serve as principal next year.

The school board meeting will begin in the Lecture Hall at 7:30 p.m. next Monday.

The meeting will also include a public hearing to amend Superintendent Dr. Sandra Brower’s contract. on the public hearing.
