When Brower was hired as the Superintendent of Schools, her start date was pending her release as Assistant Superintendent in Wall, Board of Education Jack Martenak said. As a result, the contract did not reflect her actual start date.

“There’s a ripple effect on other dates in her contract,” he said.

Dates in Brower’s contract are dependent on her start date. Some dates impacted include Brower’s healthcare coverage and her renewal date, Martenak said.

For example, Brower’s contract states that she would serve as superintendent from December 1, 2011 to July 1, 2016 but Brower’s first day on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011.

The school board will consider and vote on the amendment at a public hearing held at its May meeting.

Administrative Reorganization

The school district is working on an “administrative reorganization” that will be revealed and voted on at the Board of Education meeting.

Any moves are not yet official and will have to be voted on, he said. Martenak could not share any specifics until after the vote.

“We’re taking a look at how we’re using administrative positions with managing schools, teacher development and teacher evaluation,” he said. “We’re looking at how we are aligned and how we could be more efficient.”

Martenak said Lacey Township High School Principal William Zylinski is not being promoted, although parents have speculated that he will not serve as principal next year.

The school board meeting will begin in the  auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
