PTSA Presents New Community Sign to School Board

The PTSA purchased a LED sign for approximately $25K

The Lacey Township High School has a new LED sign, courtesy of the Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA).

"The sign is finally complete and we're very excited about it," President Donna McAvoy said as she dedicated the sign to the school district at Monday night's school board meeting.

Last year, the PTSA asked Principal William Zylinski what they could do for the high school. The current sign in front of the school was damaged after it was run over by a snowplow.

The project to get a new sign took 14 months, she said. The new sign is approximately 12 feet high, double-sided and cost $25,000. It should be working by the end of the week.

"It will be a great communication board for all the good things that happen here at the high school," McAvoy said.

Most of the cost was covered through fundraisers but local businesses are also sponsoring the sign, she previously said. In return, the businesses will get advertising space on the bottom of the sign.

Two main sponsors will have their names displayed for six years: Exelon Corporation and TJMaxx. Others will have their names displayed for two years and include Dress Me Up- A Unique Boutique; Kelly J. Hopper, CPA; Colonial Diner, route: {:controller=>"listings", :action=>"show", :id=>"colonial-diner-and-restaurant"} -->; Thompson Chiropractic Center; ;
