Photo Sittings to be Offered for 2012 LTHS Graduates

After a wet commencement, the school district will be providing complimentary videos of graduation and a $20 photo sitting to graduates

After a drenching commencement in which many Lacey parents were unable to snap photos of their children, the school district plans to make up for it by providing videos of the ceremony and photo sittings for the graduates.

“Although the ceremony certainly had so many highlights, our kids were just so excited, there definitely were some dampening of spirits as that rain came down on us,” Superintendent Dr. Sandra Brower said at Monday’s school board meeting.

The school district will be providing two complimentary copies of the graduation video, which may be available by Tuesday, July 10 or sooner. The videos will be at each school in the district for pick up.

“Some families may even be able to get a snapshot picture from the video,” she said.

The school photographer from The Lens will also be offering a sitting for graduates in their gowns and with their diplomas. For $20, parents can receive an 8-by-10, 5-by-6 and wallet photos, Brower said.

The sittings will begin also on July 10 at 2 p.m. Appointments can be made by contacting high school Secretary Kathy Fernandez at kfernandez@laceyschools.org.

If there is an overwhelming response, additional sittings will be offered, Brower said.
