Letter: District Outlines Delayed Opening Schedule

As of now, Lacey schools will operate according to its normal schedule on Thursday, March 7

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Although the weather forecast for the next few days is varied and the severity uncertain for our area at this time, I want to take this opportunity to ask you to review your family's plan with your child for a 2 hour-delayed opening or an early dismissal should inclement weather cause a change to our normal schedule tomorrow. Any change in our school day tomorrow will be communicated to you using our automated call system, posted on our website and shared with local news stations and media.

I will do all that we can to keep our schools open all the while knowing that safety is our highest priority. If our schools are open but your surrounding area is not safe for travel, please know that the decision to send your child to school tomorrow is always yours. If a school closing is necessary, we will again modify the school calendar most likely beginning with a school makeup day during spring break and then moving any additional days onto June. Please frequent our website for more information.

Stay safe, warm and dry,

Sandra Brower
Superintendent of Schools
