Lacey Seniors To Graduate On Friday

Approximately 90 percent of the graduating class will continue onto higher education

Lacey Township High School seniors will throw their caps in the air as they celebrate their graduation on Friday, June 17 at 6 p.m.

Approximately 360 students will be receiving diplomas at the school district’s thirtieth annual commencement, which will be held on the high school football field.

“I am most proud of how this class really supports each other,” Principal Will Zylinski said. “They always encouraged each other to do the best they can throughout their four years of high school.”

While 79 of the graduating seniors were members of the National Honor Society, about 90 percent of the graduating class will be pursuing a post-graduate education. Sixteen seniors will be entering the military.

Students will be attending colleges such as American University, George Washington University, Rutgers, Clemson University, West Virginia University, Northeastern University, the University of North Carolina, the University of Rhode Island, and more.

  • Remarks by William Zylinski, Principal; Jack Martenak, Board of Education President; Loren A. Heuschkel, Advisor of the Class of 2011; and Michael Martenak, President of the Student Government Association
  • Salutatory Address, Lindsay V. Ruhlin
  • Valedictory Address, Kelsey Devery
  • Presentation of the Class of 2011, Richard Starodub, Superintendent of Schools
  • Awarding of Diplomas, BOE Members
  • Tassel Change, Lindsay Ruhlin, Vice President of SGA
  • Celebration, Kathryn Nogalo, Vice President of the Class of 2011
  • Recessional “Fanfare and Recessional,” LTHS Band

The rain date for the event is Saturday, June 18 at 10 a.m.
