Emmy Winning Lacey Grad Hosts Teacher at NBC

Barbara Hartnett was invited to view a taping of the Today Show

Robert Soehl, a 1995 Lacey graduate and an Emmy winning EVS Operator at NBC, recently hosted a Lacey teacher on the set of the Today Show, according to the school district’s website.

Barbara Hartnett, now high school department chair for English and Mathematics, taught Soehl his junior and senior years. Soehl's former teacher was invited to view a taping of the Today Show that included a performance by Celtic Thunder, a favorite of Hartnett.

Soehl, 36, credits Hartnett and other Lacey teachers with his success.

“I wouldn’t be where I am without my teachers,” he said in the news release.

The two had the opportunity to talk to the Celtic Thunder’s musical director and meet the singers. They later watched the singers perform a song.
