District Reschedules Meeting for Parents in Response to Sandy Hook Shooting

Topics will include school district response protocols, how the community can help and the seven c's of resilience

The Lacey Township School District has rescheduled its District Parent and Community Forum on School Safety for Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Lacey Middle School.

The meeting was called to order on Dec. 17 after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut that claimed 26 lives. It was later postponed while the district provided counseling services to students mourning the death of high school senior Dan DiFabio.

All parents are invited to the community forum, Superintendent Dr. Sandra Brower previously said. Resources will be available.

Community leaders and experts in the field of school management, school psychology and school social work will provid information as well as provide the opportunity for feedback from parents and the community, a district news release said.

Lacey Middle School is located at 660 Denton Avenue in Forked River.
