Dan DiFabio, 18, Remembered as a 'Sweetheart'

The Lacey Township School District is offering counseling services to students throughout the day until 8 p.m. Wednesday

Dan DiFabio, 18, was known for his smile and humor.

“Dan, you were so amazing! You always had a smile on your face and you always made everyone smile and laugh around you,” Tina Monbleau said on Facebook.

The Lacey Township High School senior was pronounced dead at his Forked River home Tuesday. The circumstances surrounding his death have not been released.

Monbleau continued to call DiFabio a “sweetheart.”

“We have such an amazing angel watching over us now and you’re in a very special place right now,” she said.

A candlelight vigil was held in DiFabio’s memory Tuesday night and a makeshift Facebook page has been created in his honor. As of Wednesday afternoon, the page had 1,988 likes.

According to DiFabio’s Facebook page, he participated in Motocross, a form of motorcycle racing held on off-road circuits.

Others are calling DiFabio an “awesome kid,” a “goofball” and “one of the nicest kids.”

“Dan was a sweetheart who had the ability to bring a smile to everyone’s face,” Rachel Finelli said on Facebook. “Your humor always made me giggle and your laughter was contagious. I hope you see how many people adored you.”

Counseling services are available to students at the high school throughout the day until 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The District Response Crisis Team as well as grief counselors will also be available at 6:30 p.m. to provide parents and guardians with information to help children cope with loss.

I never thought someone would mean as much as you do to me. I have never been so happy in my life and thats all because of you, i am so grateful i got the chance to know you! You always had a smile on your face and knew how to make me happy. I think we can all agree that we lost someone very special but we are lucky enough to have such a wonderful angel watching us from above! I could write about you forever, there are so many great things about you. I will carry you with me through everything and smile knowing that is what will make you happiest.
