Big Turnout for 2012 LTHS Prom Breakfast

The Policeman's Benevolent Association 238 and the high school's Parent-Teacher-Student Association partnered to hold a post prom breakfast

On Friday, June 1 from midnight to 2:30 a.m., the Policeman's Benevolent Association (PBA) 238 and the high school's Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) hosted an after prom party for Lacey seniors and their dates.

"Every year we look forward to working alongside the PBA and helping out with this event," PTSA President Donna McAvoy said. "We think that it is wonderful that the PBA sponsors this event for our high school students. It keeps them safe and off the streets after the prom."

The event had its biggest turnout yet with 270 students, she said.

The Prom Breakfast was paid for by the PBA and the entertainment was paid for by the PTSA, she said. The PBA made delicious porkroll/bacon egg and cheese sandwiches fresh to order. The students were also treated to donuts, coffee, bagels, fruit platters, and orange juice.

The students had fun eating, dancing, and winning prizes throughout the night, McAvoy said.

"Darryl Nick from the PBA is the chairmen of this event and he had about ten other policemen at the event helping him," she said. "They did a terrific job and the students all looked like they enjoyed themselves."
