It is the most wonderful time of the year to celebrate with traditions!

Keeping you informed on my transition as the new superintendent of the Lacey Township School District.

From banquets to concerts, to sings alongs and eating ice cream sundaes with Santa, it has been a wonderful time of the year. I am finding such joy in being able to join our students, our parents and our staff members celebrate the sounds of the season. My transition team met on Monday and in that meeting I shared that I want to better understand the traditions of Lacey Township. They are helping me create a list of traditions. Please reach out to them to help them with this project.

This week I learned that celebrating our student athletes with a celebratory banquet is a tradition. I watched the passing of the paw at the Men's Soccer Banquet. That is a wonderful tradition I thought to myself. I heard captain's speeches delivered at the Women's Soccer Banquet. There is a printed program with an anthology of events and achievements that this team has memorialized over time. That is a tradition. The very special fan, an older gentleman, who loves the sport and hasn't missed a game celebrated with the girls. He is a living tradition. Giving lifetime memberships to parents who have left a legacy of service is a tradition. I witnessed that tradition celebrated with a lifetime membership to Donna McAvoy. It was beautiful. Over at Lanoka Harbor, a tradition of family cards in a beautiful center hall display was shown to me. That is a tradition. Chief Nally recently shared with me that Santa rides the streets of Lacey Township spreading holiday cheer. That is such an amazing tradition!

Next week I am set out to find 'myself some more traditions'. I plan on heading over to each school to scout them out. I can't wait to share them with you.

Warm wishes for a holiday season filled with your traditions!
