Democratic county committee unanimously nominates Brick Twp. Municipal Utilities Authority employee
Gary Vaccaro will be running for a seat on the Lacey Township Committee in the upcoming November general election, said Nicholas Toth, municipal chair of the Lacey Township Democratic County Committee.
“Gary's regulatory compliance background and his experience working with local, state and federal government agencies are amongst the many great qualities that distinguish him as a candidate,” Toth said.
The Lacey Township Democratic County Committee voted unanimously to nominate Vaccaro on March 9.

Helen DelaCruz and Sean Sharkey, both Democrats, paired against Republicans and long-time, former Committeemen John Parker and Brian Reid. They won the elections in November with 54 percent of the votes.
“Together with Committeeman Sean Sharkey and Committeewoman Helen DelaCruz, Gary will play crucial role in providing a more transparent and responsible governing body in Lacey Township,” Toth said.
Vaccaro was honored to be selected to run for Lacey Township committee, he said.
“I firmly believe it is critical that I build a foundation of trust and confidence to enable us to work together as a community. The first step in this process will be to listen to the ideas and concerns of the citizens of Lacey Township,” Vaccaro said.
Vaccaro attended the recent Communications Workers of America Local 1088 “We Are One” rally.
Vaccaro said he was there to support the public workers of Lacey Township and listen to their issues and concerns.
“I got involved because of the anger,” Vacarro said. “I’m hoping to get us to work together as a community.”
Vaccaro currently works for the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority, where he has been the supervisor of regulatory compliance and health and safety for four years. He previously worked in the private sector as an environmental consultant.
