Recreation Department Waives Fees for Remaining Fall Programs

The Lacey Recreation Department has waived fees for several programs to help those recovering from Hurricane Sandy

The Lacey Recreation Department has waived fees for several programs to help those recovering from Hurricane Sandy.

“We waived the fees for a couple of our programs to allow people some much needed stress relief during the rebuilding stage after the storm,” Recreation Director Jim Wioland said.

There are four fitness programs that are finishing up this season, that residents can jump into for free. Just bring the attached flyer.

Below are a list and description of the programs: 

Power Yoga-Pilates
Athletic based yoga poses combined with Joseph Pilates body slimming and core exercises. All levels welcome.
Location: Lacey Recreation Classroom
Instructor: Adrienne Costa-DiPaolo
When: Tuesdays, Dec. 4 and 11, 7 to 8 p.m.

Gentle Yoga
60-minute classes of breath work, flexibility training, strength, endurance, balance and relaxation. Bring your own mat and water.
Location: Lacey Recreation Classroom
Instructor: Adrienne Costa-DiPaolo
When: Wednesdays, Dec. 5 and 12, 10 to 11 a.m. 

Zumba Basic
Designed for beginners through intermediate levels, move to Latin and International styles of music and dance.
Location: Lacey Community Hall (upstairs)
Instructor: Diane Salkeld
When: Wednesdays, Dec. 5 and 12, 9 to 10 a.m. 

Pre-School Yoga
For three to six-year-olds and their caregivers, a 30-minute class that helps children explore yoga poses through movement, stretch, balance and flow.
Location: Lacey Recreation Classroom
Instructor: Adrienne Costa-DiPaolo
When: Thursdays, Dec. 6, 1 to 1:30 p.m.

The Lacey Recreation Classroom is located in the Lacey Recreation Office directly behind the police station off of Lacey Road.

The Lacey Community Hall is located at the corner of Lacey Road and Route 9. The entrance for the upstairs floor is adjacent to the rear parking lot.
