Recreation Department Accepting Registration for Spring Senior Citizen Day Trips

Trips range from $6 to $36

The Lacey Township Recreation Department is currently taking registration for its spring senior citizen day trips:

  • Thursday, April 4, Monmouth Mall with a stop at the Delicious Orchards Farmers Market, departing from Gille Park parking lot at 9:30 a.m., $6.00 per person.
  • Wednesday, April 10, the Strand Theater in Lakewood for a luncheon and show, departing from Gille Park at 10 a.m. The “Roaring Funnies” is a comedy about a 1920’s speakeasy where two bumbling gangs are fighting for control of the bootleg business. A buffet lunch is included at the theater and the price of this trip is $36.00 per person. 
  • Tuesday, April 16, Shore Premium Outlets in Tinton Falls, departing from Gille Park at 9:30 a.m., $6.
  • Thursday, April 25, Wheaton Village in Millville, departing from Gille Park at 8:30 a.m. for an afternoon of art demonstrations, sightseeing and culture, $14.
  • Thursday, May 2, Columbus Market in Columbus, departing from Gille Park at 8 a.m. for an afternoon of shopping, tasting, and antiquing, $6.
  • Thursday, May 9, The Shoppes at Historic Smithville and Village Green in Smithville, departing from Gille Park at 9:30 a.m., $6.
  • Thursday, May 16, Duke Farms in Hillsborough, departing from Gille Park at 9:00 a.m., $6.
  • Thursday, May 23, Cape May, departing from Gille Park at 8 a.m. for an afternoon of shopping, tasting, and sight seeing, $10.
  • Wednesday, May 29, a Lakewood Blue Claws Minor League Baseball game, departing Gille Park at 8 a.m., $11. 

For each trip, lunch is on your own unless otherwise stated.

Residents can register for these programs at the Recreation Office, 818 Lacey Road, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Registration is taken on a first come, first served basis and all checks should be made payable to Lacey Township.
