Primary Election Guide

Although Tuesday's primary race is uncontested, polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

One seat will be open as Committeeman David Most’s term is up Dec. 31, 2011.

Most will be up for re-election on the Republican ticket while Democrat newcomer Gary Vaccaro will try to earn the seat.

The general election can lead to a party power shift on the committee if Vaccaro is voted in. Currently three Republicans and two Democrats sit on the committee.

However, Most and Vaccaro could still face an outside challenge. Independent candidates have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to file nominating petitions to be on the ballot in the November general election.
