Lacey Road 7-Eleven and Shell Approved to Open

Township zoning board memorialized the resolution for the new 7-Eleven and Shell after the applicant met several conditions

The Lacey Road 7-Eleven and gas station will open sooner rather than later after the township zoning board memorialized the applicant's resolution.

In March, the , including a letter from JCP&L explaining why utilities were installed above ground and a letter from the state Department of Environmental Protection confirming a previous issue with monitoring wells on the site has been resolved.

“We did attempt to do so, and we were unsuccessful,” said attorney John Marmora of K&L Gates LLP. “JCP&L said they would not do that. It’s a matter of corporate policy. They will not issue those letters and assume that kind of liability.”

Marmora provided the board with an email from the electric company explaining details regarding what complies and does not comply with their codes.

“It conforms with the JCP&L equipment specification,” the letter states.

The applicant has since complied with the board's remaining conditions such as providing signage surrounding the back of the store that says “employees only” and “no trucks or thru traffic” and installing concrete sidewalks from the back of the building to the front.

The drive through window was also blocked, which was eliminated due to a change in corporate policies, Marmora previously said.

“We’re completed and ready to open,” Marmora said.
