Lacey Property Owner in Violation of Land Use Laws

Property owner is seeking variances from the zoning board after illegally developing four commercial storage buildings on a lot

The owner of three properties on Lacey Road will go before the township zoning Board of Adjustment for a workshop at 7 p.m. after violating land use codes.

The applicant owns three neighboring properties where a junkyard, Jersey Shore Tractor Trailer Driving School and another lot sit. On one lot, four commercial storage buildings covering 2,472 square feet, were built.

The location consists of an existing automobile salvage yard and the commercial buildings that were placed on the lot include one 1,600 square foot building, two 336 square foot buildings and one 200 square foot building.

The location is a part of the Pinelands Preservation Area District. The new commercial buildings are in violation of land use ordinances and the Pinelands Comprehensive Management Plan.

The property owner will be seeking use, setback and bulk variances from the zoning board.

The new 7-Eleven was approved earlier this month pending conditions while the Maxim Drive application was approved in February.
