Lacey Groups Donate To Lacey Day

The Rotary Club and Lacey Moose make donations towards Lacey Day

The Lacey Township Rotary Club donated $5,000 towards Lacey Day at the May 12 committee meeting.

Lacey Moose promised to match the donation and presented a check for $5,000 as well.

“As most of you know, this year the township is still trying to struggle through economic times and the Rotary Club as well as the Moose have come forth this year as they have in the past,” Mayor Gary Quinn said.

Lacey Day, organized by the Rotary Club, will be held on August 13 and is free of charge. Groups and organizations throughout the town will be able to have booths. There will be food cooked by members of the Rotary Club, entertainment, and recreation.

“[The Rotary Club] really have stepped up for us on numerous occasions and I have to applaud each and every one of you for everything you do for Lacey Township,” Quinn said to members of the Rotary Club.

The Moose Lodge is another group that has come through with many donations to help the township and the community over the years, Quinn said.

“These two groups are really the key as to why we’re able to put on Lacey Day again this year,” Quinn said.

In 2010, the municipality did not hold Lacey Day due to financial restraints, said Quinn.
