July 9: A Little History, A Little Art, And a Planning Board Meeting

Things to do in and around Lacey

1. The township Planning Board meets at 7 p.m. at the municipal building. On the agenda are a resolution related to the application to build a White Castle and public hearings on applications by Lacey Plaza and Dollar General.

2. Rock to the beat of To The Limit at 7 p.m. at the Lacey branch of the Ocean County Library. The band performs music from the 1970s and beyond. Register for this free program by calling 609-693-8566.

3. Feed your artistic side, or that of your children, by taking part in the Monday Morning Murals at the Lacey branch of the library. Drop in between 9 and 11 a.m. to add to the library's mural.

4. Have some ice cream and take in a show as the Music Man Ice Cream Shoppe in Lavallette stages Broadway Cabarets when you order a sundae at the shop between 6 and 11 p.m. Grand Central Avenue, Lavallette.

5. Delve into Lacey's history at the Old Schoolhouse Museum. Open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 1-3 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon, the schoolhouse was built in 1868 and a second room added in 1884.
