Two Ocean County women who were arrested in a car stop Sunday night were carrying more than 100 bags of heroin between them, Manchester Township Police said.
Ohna D. Fagan, 18, of Waretown, and Kyrsta D. Badgett, 20, of Forked River, were carrying the drugs when Manchester Officer Peter Manco stopped the Lexus in which they were passengers on Lacey Road around 10:15 p.m. Sunday for failing to maintain a lane and other violations, police said.
When Manco and Officers Brian Collins, Michael Anderson and Vincent DeRome checked the women after the stop, they found Fagan had 58 bags of heroin and a hypodermic needle, police said, and Badgett had 47 bags of heroin.
Both women were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, and they were taken to the Ocean County Jail in default of $10,000 bail each.
The car's driver, who was not identified because of age, was issued a summons at the scene.
