Woman Succumbs To Injuries After Accident In Waretown On Tuesday

Accident happened at the intersection of Main Street and Bryant Road


Ocean Township police are looking for witnesses to an accident early Tuesday evening at the intersection of Main Street and Bryant Road.

Police responded to the two-car accident at 6:02 p.m. The first vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Ram, was traveling southbound on Main Street approaching the intersection.

The second vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Neon, was heading eastbound on Bryan Road when the two vehicles collided approaching the intersection, police said.

The driver of the van - a 30-year-old male from Waretown - was injured. But the female driver of the Dodge Neon was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where she later died of her injuries, police said..

The accident is currently under investigation by Patrolman Steve Mandarine of the Department's Traffic Safety Bureau and Detective Andrew Risden of the Department's Detective Bureau.

The female’s name is being withheld until family notification can be made by accident investigators. Any witnesses to the accident are being asked to contact Investigators at (609) 693-4007.
