Waretown Man Charged With DUI After Accident Near Oyster Creek Nuke Plant

A 21-year-old Waretown man was arrested recently for DUI after getting into an accident near the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station, police said.

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 6:32 p.m., Officer Michael Verwey responded to Route 9 South near the Oyster Creek for a motor vehicle accident. Investigation at the scene led to the arrest of 21-year-old Joshua Allota of 5th Street in Waretown for DUI, police said.

He was transported to police headquarters, processed, and released after receiving traffic summonses for DUI, reckless driving, careless driving, and open container in a motor vehicle.

The vehicle that Allota drove was impounded pursuant to John’s Law.
