Vehicle Vandalism Spree in Lacey Overnight

16 vehicles damaged overnight, two days after similar vandalism attack

Lacey police say more than 16 vehicles were vandalized overnight between Sunday and Monday.

The vehicles were parked on various streets in Forked River and Lanoka Harbor, police said, and likely suffered damage between midnight and 2 a.m.

"The suspects are in a vehicle and are using a blunt object to cause the damage," a statement from police said.

There was no description of the vehicle or suspects available Monday morning.

The latest rash of vandalism comes just two days after several vehicles were damaged in the Oakfield section of Lanoka Harbor.

Around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, a resident reported hearing glass breaking and called police; it was later found that eight vehicles had been vandalized. According to police reports, it appears that someone in a vehicle is using an object such as a baseball bat to damage the cars.
