Two People Extricated from Minivan Following Barnegat Collision

Two Forked River residents were extricated from a minivan at Route 9 and Bayshore Drive, following an accident at the intersection in Barnegat around 10 a.m. today, according to Barnegat police Sergeant Gary LaRussa. 

Reynaldo Savis, of Forked River, and his passenger Elke Savis, also of Forked River, were extricated from the minivan after Savis attempted to make a left turn onto Bayshore Drive, and was hit by a car driven by Jeremy Slappey, also of Forked River, who was traveling northbound. 

The collision caused the minivan, driven by Savis, to overturn and come to rest on the Northeast corner of Bayshore and Route 9. LaRussa said that all parties sustained minor injuries. Savis was issued a ticket for failing to yield, LaRussa said. 

Barnegat police, fire company, and first aid personnel responded.
