Two Men, One From Toms River, Charged In Lacey Assault

The 26-year-old victim did not regain consciousness immediately at the scene and was flown to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center

Two men were charged this past week with assault and hindering an investigation at an East Lacey Road residence where an unconscious man was found.

The 26-year-old victim did not regain consciousness immediately at the scene and was flown to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center. The investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted while in the residence, police said.

Around 12:32 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, 26-year-old Luis Jenis of Lakehurst Road in Toms River was arrested and charged with assault and hindering apprehension.

Also, 39-year-old Marino Carpinteiro-Estevez of East Lacey Road in Forked River was charged with Hindering Apprehension.

They were both charged on complaint summonses and released. Detective Robert Surtees and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office assisted in the investigation.
